Elf lab conference 2024 - Fårö
The Elf and guests with Langhammarsgubben. The spectacular stone formations on Gotland are the remains of ancient coral reefs, buried in the sediments and later exposed when the Baltic winds and sea collaborated to erode the nascent coastline.
Lunch at Kuten’s Bensin. The place is an intriguing mix of a junkyard, old car museum, and French creperie. As an extra treat, Thomas, who started the place some four decades ago, told us the stories about how it came to be and all the shenanigans it has seen over the years. Allegedly, Thomas applied for an alcohol permit only after being pressured by the police who wanted to frequent the place and he has hosted some of Sweden’s most celebrated musicians in his barn - without paying them!
